The Footprint

— Shibdas Banerjee

Because, your footsteps lost the road carelessly —
You entered into the land of a poor soul,
Where the empty broken stages exist;
Nobody is there to play a role;
Only the innocent feelings gazed at the invisible novice;
My regards were speechless abruptly —
Because, your footsteps lost the road carelessly.

Because, you forgot to wipe your footprints in my broken stages —
The endless joy of the hapless heart remained silent,
Being unable to describe your appearance;
No flower was there to offer your feet
As the sacred wind missed to open the blossom;
Only my love dares to show the courage —
Because, you forgot to wipe your footprints in my broken stages.
